Peak Busters

Not all electricity was created equal. There are times when the electricity you use is a lot more expensive. These are called “peak” times, and Baldwin EMC needs your help to keep these times from putting too much pressure on your bill. During these peak periods (usually in the mid afternoon and evening in the summer and early morning during the winter) the cost your co-op pays for power is significantly higher than it is during off-peak times. You can help keep these higher demands in check by becoming a Peak Buster.

When you sign up for this new program, Baldwin EMC will alert you with an automated phone message to let you know when our system is about to hit a peak period.

And that’s when you spring into action! Take steps to lower your energy use, like turning off unused lights, appliances and electronic devices, adjusting your thermostat a few degrees, and postponing things like doing laundry or taking hot showers.
